the > bellevue bar advertises with that fact that it's a meeting point for politicians, business people, journalists and couples in love. i'm there sometimes, too.

and then i listen to the intelligent questions asked by the journalist to the politician, get to know about the plans of the business man (i will read in the paper in two days anyway), and ignore the couples. but still i'm not the one to sit allone, as i normally meet friends here before we go out.

but first i give my coat to the servant and sit in a nice chair, close to the business men and far away from the couples. i order my bloody mary, a drink that is perfectly spicy here. and from time to time a servant comes with canapés.

it's not the place to stay for a long time. but it's a good place to be seen in conversation with an important person by the journalist from the bund (or evan the nzz!!) you'll find here quite often.
