who hopes to find a whiff of las vegas in the local casino will be disappointed. no dim atmosphere, no ongoing rattling from one-armed bandits, no hard boiled gamblers who stare with empty eyes at tables and monitors. the carpets are a little too new, the slot shots remind one rather of a toy store than of the depths of gambling addiction, the main clientele comes from the asiatic tourist sector, and when the croupier calls in good old bernese "black jack", also the last hopes of a few hours in another world vanish.

but still, there is gambling here. at the more or less ten tables you will find poker, black jack, roulette and well dressed card dealers. the bar has everything and not too expensive, the waiters and waitresses are young and friendly. and as soon as i win back the 10 franks entry fee, double it and even triple it, the gambling fever got me, too. luckily, my colleague disu drags me out just in time.
