you step down the stairs and find yourself on a time travel. the atmosphere is very "vintage". i read somewhere that the "chlödu" (the name of this place in the bernese dialect) is one of oldest of it's sort. and it's older than the > kornhauskeller.

you get a warm welcome and get seated sometimes at table with other guests. the team takes care of you, jokes and recommends specialities that are not listed in the menu. we ordered a mushroom dish, wild sow and a kind of ravioli with smoked duck breast. this sounds tasty and it was delicious indeed.

we had swiss red wine, ligerzer, that comes from a place where one of my favourite books acts (der richter und sein henker written by dürrenmatt). you've got to know, just to prevent a disappointment, that swiss red wine is quit light compared to french, spanish or italian wine (it's like the american acqua coffee compared to italian espresso - no, it's not that bad!).

finally we took a chlödu-müntschi (müntschi is the bernese expression for "kiss") and where ready for the sins of the night.

the only negativ thing in the klötzlikeller was a german guest, who was complaining all the time. but this behaviour of our northern neighbours is nothing new, so i don't want to go into detail.
